HEALTHY DIETS FOR PETS!

Turns out, canines love veggies and tuber roots and obtain their macro- and micro-nutrients in a more natural and easier to digest manner. So every day, we give our little guy grass-fed/organic meat with veggies, beans, and/or brown rice. It took a little time to transition but now he loves his healthy diet and homemade dog treats (see Recipe on Food Corner Page). May you and your furry loved ones live a long and healthy life!

Our four legged fur baby has been eating grass fed beef, steamed/sauteed veggies, and brown rice and his energy is through the roof! He devours the food on his plate, down to every last grain of rice. Thank goodness he is small otherwise he would be eating us out of house and home ;) As an aside, we purchased a dehydrator and have been making homemade chicken and beef jerky treats for him with no hormone/antibiotic chicken and grass fed beef, respectively. No toxic treats from China or anywhere else for that matter for this little guy. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like tips or would like a free sample for your little one(s).

Like many pet owners, I was confused as to what the best food options were for my furry, four-legged son. Believe me, I tried them all...the "best" of the best dry foods, numerous raw foods, you name it. Finally after so much confusion and numerous (failed) attempts, I finally gave up and fed him food from the land. My little guy now eats grass-fed beef from cows not treated with antibiotics or hormones or cage/antibiotic/hormone-free chicken mixed with some sort of vegetable and starch (usually organic brown rice). His current veggie faves are homemade tomato sauce, sauteed spinach, and sauteed acorn squash. He has been on the "diet" for nearly two months now and he is uber REGULAR...I mean 2-3 BMs a day and not to be too graphic, but they are firm and the elimination process is quick! Dogs are wolf descendants and historically lived "off the land." What do you think they ate before the food industry created ALPO and Purina??? I'm very happy with his diet and I think he is too, I have noticed that his energy is through the roof since the new diet (a mixed blessing indeed). ;)
I came across this great website which reviews dietary needs for specific dog breeds: http://petbrosia.com/category/dog-breed-nutrition/
